Resilience Through Public Speaking

The Academy of Speakers Resilience through Public Speaking program will give your child an added advantage before entering high school. In this engaging and enjoyable course, the students will learn the basic principles of speaking in public while also learning the core foundations of building a resilient mindset and how to apply these principles into their daily life, not just public speaking.
Resilience through Public Speaking
During this program, the students will be taught the key aspects of resilience by learning:
How to face their fears and harness their nervous energy
How to give and accept positive and constructive feedback
How to take risks and how to deal with setbacks
How to find their individual voice
Practical Public Speaking Skills
Within this program, the public speaking skills that they will learn include:
How to feel confident when you are feeling nervous
How to speak effectively on camera
How to overcome fear and not suffer from mental blocks
How to speak to make people listen
How to visualise a successful speech
How to effectively structure your presentation
How to relax through structured breathing and mindfulness techniques
How to effectively use pauses and avoid filler words (umhs and ahs)
What they will learn
By the end of the program, students will have learnt:
How to find their individual, unique voice
How to accept their fears of public speaking as a natural part of the process
How to be confident even when they are feeling nervous
How to practice and prepare an effective speech
How to deliver a clear, confident presentation
Who will be teaching the course
This course will be run by our experienced coaches. All members of our team have had experience not just in public speaking but also in building leadership skills.

What will your child be doing?
Your child will be:
Participating in group games to build confidence
Presenting their prepared speech to an audience
Participating in group discussions that teach resilience
Practicing how to give constructive feedback to peers
Taking notes to become a better speaker
